DNA Test Quality and Scientific Validation
At MyLabDNA, we apply rigorous scientific standards to deliver accurate, reliable and reproducible genetic test results for dogs, cats and horses.
Testing Technology
Our DNA tests are based on validated molecular methods designed to detect specific genetic variants with high analytical precision.
Quality Control
Each step of the process includes strict quality control measures, from sample reception to result validation, to ensure consistency and reliability.
Scientific Validation
Our assays are developed and reviewed using established scientific knowledge, internal validation procedures and species-specific genetic expertise.
Sample Quality
Reliable results depend on correct sample collection, proper storage and clear identification. We provide collection guidance to help ensure optimal DNA quality.
Scope and Limitations
Genetic testing identifies specific variants, but it does not predict all health outcomes, environmental influences or disease severity in every individual animal.
Accreditation & Scientific Standards
MyLabDNA performs analyses of genetic diseases, genetic traits, and genetic identification in a laboratory accredited and compliant with ISO 17025 standards.
Accreditation is the formal recognition that a laboratory is competent to perform specific tasks. It demonstrates competence, impartiality and reliability, and helps customers make informed decisions when selecting a laboratory.
- EA – European co-operation for Accreditation
- ILAC – International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation
- IAF – International Accreditation Forum
- FAB – Forum of Accreditation Bodies
What does a flexible scope of accreditation mean?
A flexible scope of accreditation allows a laboratory to introduce or modify validated methods more quickly than through the standard accreditation review process, while staying within the already granted scope of accreditation. This supports continuous development according to scientific and customer needs.
ISAG Participation
MyLabDNA performs genetic identification in an ISAG member laboratory that regularly participates in comparative quality tests organized by the International Society for Animal Genetics. The laboratory has consistently achieved excellent results in canine DNA profiling and ranked first in cat and horse comparative DNA tests.
